In 1998, Portugal’s civil aviation scene underwent a change with the demerger of the former state-owned Aeroportos e Navegação Aérea, ANA, EP, giving rise to two distinct companies. In the wake of that move, ANA - Aeroportos de Portugal consequently emerged, preserving its predecessor's corporate mission to provide public airport services supporting civil aviation. The provision of public air-navigation services was entrusted to Navegação Aérea de Portugal - NAV, EP. |

ANA Aeroportos de Portugal, SA is in charge of the management, operation and development of the Lisbon (Portela), Oporto (Francisco Sá Carneiro), Faro, Ponta Delgada (João Paulo II), Santa Maria, Horta and Flores airports, which in 2004 accounted for 19 million passengers overall. Today, we have become a benchmark airport-management group in terms of quality, profitability and an ability to seize new opportunities.
