António Xavier de Lima is a public limited company, operating basically in two areas of business: Horsebreeding and Real Estate.

One of the largest landowners in Portugal, our company owns more than 50,000 ha of the country's finest land. These vast tracts of land are located not only in industrial zones but also in the interior, close to large cities, and on long stretches of coastline with direct access to beaches and the sea.

Stud-Farm

This farm is home to more than 500 animals, featuring stallions, mares and colts, most of which are of the "Lusitanian" breed.

Dedicated mainly to breeding thoroughbred "Lusitanians", it also produces Arab and Pure English Stallions.

The finest ones go on to be trained as High School and Bullfighting horses at the farm.

The farm is located in the Herdade dos Arneiros. This estate of ours runs to 270 ha., just 40 km. out of Lisbon and 4 km. from Setúbal.

Real Estate

The prime location of our 50,000 ha of land makes it especially suited to setting up:

- Industrial facilities. The land where Auto-Europa plant (a Ford/VW joint-venture) is located, was acquired from AXL. It consist of 200 ha of land alongside the Lisbon/Setúbal Highway in the Palmela region.

- Hypermarkets. Chains, such as Makro, have hypermarkets located on land bought from AXL.

- Tourist Complexes.

We have thousands of ha available along the Atlantic Portuguese Coast.

Aside from that, AXL also has a vast range of houses and small plots of land for building construction available for sale.

We have land, farms and estates dotted all around the country. Most of them are located in Setúbal, Lisbon, Coimbra, Portalegre, the Algarve and along the Alentejo Coastline
