The outcome of a merger of the Banco Fonsecas & Burnay, Banco Borges & Irmão and the Banco de Fomento e Exterior, the Banco BPI came into being on May 25 1998. Inheriting the name and corporate culture of BPI - Banco Português de Investimento, it respects the history and values of the other institutions that created it. A new bank, integrated into one of Portugal's most solid financial groups, it has started out big. Having proved itself, it is now building its own image to identify its information, products and branches. This image combines two key attributes: In many regions of the Mediterranean basin and the Caucasus, orange is associated with the name of Portugal, in an unexpected memento of the history of the Discoveries. And, in many countries oranges and orange blossom are a sign of availability and a warm welcome. BPI's logo expresses its ambition to serve Customers and the Community with the utmost of
dedication and quality. That's why, more than just being an image, it is a program for the future. |
