WHO WE ARE

COSEC is a specialized insurance company and a leader when it comes to the Credit and Bond insurance business. We underwrite risks on the national and international markets and are entrusted with the management of risks with the Portuguese State's guarantee.

Set up in 1969, COSEC is now a private insurer. Among our shareholders are solid financial groups, including major national credit institutions and insurers, along with prestigious foreign credit insurers.

COSEC is part of a vast worldwide information network:

• We have a data base on more than 740 000 national companies and 126 000 foreign ones.
• We have access to the major domestic and international information agencies and to other credit insurers.
• We have an on-line customer service.

COSEC's credit and bond risk portfolio covers more than 140 000 Portuguese companies and 41 000 foreign ones

COSEC is the insurer that covers on behalf of the Portuguese State the credit and bond risks of a political, monetary and catastrophic nature. We are thereby actively involved in supporting exports and the globalization of Portuguese companies.

COSEC is a member of Specialized International Organizations - "Berne Union", "ICISA - International Credit Insurance & Surety Association" and "PASA-Panamerican Surety Association" -, where we maintain an active presence
