Edinfor — Sistemas Informáticos S.A. and its associate companies are leaders on the national market in providing outsourcing and integration services for information systems. Created in 1991, it is the EDP Group’s Information Technologies (IT) center of competence, which is one of the major Portuguese economic groups. Since then, it has expanded appreciably, with 2000 being marked by the incorporation of ACE Holding SGPS, S.A. following its acquisition of CASE S.A. It now has over 1,500 experts working in a variety of areas. Possessing a solid know-how in IT products and applications earmarked for the most complex and demanding markets, the company is underpinned by important partnerships. Of special note is its partnership with SAP, of which one of its subsidiaries, CaseEdinfor, is the leading national implementer, with ACE, having been chosen as "Alliance Service Partner". Key business areas are developed through a series of subsidiaries and specialized divisions that, with a complete offer of products and services, provide clients with a "one-stop shop" offering solutions for information systems solutions and the possibility of providing all services as outsourced ones. The business activity of EDINFOR’s subsidiaries and divisions can be grouped into six major areas of operation:

Consulting & Systems Integration — primarily provided by ACE subsidiaries, especially ERPs, SCMs, Datawarehouse, CRM, Workflow, document management, and e-Business. These involve the design, planning, management and implementation of information systems; implementation of projects, along with their management, technical coordination and reengineering; integration of tools and products; development and implementation of solutions, as well as strategic consulting in IT areas.

Outsourcing of Processes & Applications — performed mostly by ACE subsidiaries, which provide outsourcing of processes, systems and/or applications with a special focus on the commercial area. Operating Call Centers and CRM for utility companies is handled by a dedicated unit.

IT Infrastructures — encompassing the availability, operation, and maintenance of computer support resources for the computing activities of big and medium-sized corporate clients, either via centralized or distributed architecture. These activities are marketed as outsourcing, whether as centralized solutions by the Data Processing Center division (one of the largest in Europe in terms of processing capacity), or as distributed solutions available from IT-LOG.

Georeferenced Solutions (GIS) — development and integration of georeferenced information systems; production, integration, management and marketing of georeferenced data; cartographic production, aerial photography and remote detection; management of systems-development projects and production of data, as well as consulting, training and providing outsourcing services for systems, human resources and equipment. This business is developed exclusively by IT-GEO.

Graphic & Finishing Solutions — graphic solutions are marketed by Copidata and cover production, marketing and integrated graphic services involving high-tech solutions for businesses. In particular, the production and marketing of forms and envelopes. Finishing activities are handled by the Finishing Center and include printing/enveloping services for bulk volumes of documents, generally invoices and bank statements.

Complementary Processes — comprise "non-core" activities developed by ACE subsidiaries and some Divisions. These are value-added ones that help complement the offer. These include audits and financial consulting, training, quality management and information-system audits.

This company was set up in 2001 as a spin-off of an EDINFOR division. Its key areas of operation are:

• Consulting & IT Infrastructure Projects — design and implementation of IS solutions in the area of networks and systems and development of applications;
