In
2000, furniture imports reached €145 million, as against
exports of €120 million. Listed by product, only wooden
bedroom furniture recorded a positive balance of €12
million. This is in contrast to the negative trade balances
on office furniture of €880,000, kitchen of €16
million and for other purposes of €4.6 million.
Bedroom
furniture imports with regard to 2000 came to €21
million, with their mainly coming from Spain (48%), UK
(19%) and Italy (12%), and with France (32%), Germany (21%)
and Netherlands (11%) as the main export destinations for
this product (€33 million).
As
to kitchen furniture, in 2000, imports reached a figure
of €20 million, originating in Spain (65%), Italy
(12%) and Germany (10%). Kitchen furniture exports essentially
went to France (46%), Spain (28%) and Angola (15%), totaling €4
million.
The
figure for office furniture imports, in 2000, was €9.5
million, with Spain (38%), Italy (28%) and France (20%)
being the countries supplying us most. The total (€9
million) of our office furniture exports went to Angola
(27%), Switzerland (25%) and France (12%).
In
2000, the import of furniture manufactured for other purposes
went to €75 million. Imports came mostly from Spain
(60%), Italy (11%) and UK (8%). Exports went to €70
million, with France (43%), Spain (15%) and Germany (11%)
the main destination markets. |
