Born in the year 2000, Galp Energia is the holding responsible for the reshaping of the Portuguese energy sector, in the areas of oil and natural gas. 

Our goal is to build a national oil and gas company, compliant with modern international standards, to be a key player in the Portuguese economy, and to grow in the international energy industry, by becoming a relevant competitor in the Iberian market.

Our commitment is to secure the consumers' preference through integrated energy offers and complementary services in the markets where Galp Energia may obtain competitive advantages, adding value to the shareholders, clients and employees.

Our mission is to generate Shareholder value, to increase Costumer satisfaction and contribute towards the well being of Society, with a Team, which is preparing to become the leader on the Iberian energy market.

The Galp Energia Group consists of more than 100 companies engaged in activities such as: 

• Natural Gas Supply, Regasification, Transport, Storage and Distribution;
• Petroleum products Exploration, Production, Refining, Trading, Logistics and Retailing;
• Co-generation and alternative energies.

The Corporate Functions are Management Units, which provide assistance to the Board of Directors of Galp Energia in defining the Group policies, in the management of key corporate resources and in the challenging performance of the Business Units.

The Services are Management Units, which provide services in areas essential to the Group's activities, being responsible for achieving a high standard of quality, efficiency and economy in fulfilling the agreed levels of service. The Services are based at Galp Serviços and at Galp eNova.

The company's Business Units are Management Units making up the Group's core business, being responsible for achieving the targets of added value creation, agreed with the Galp Energia's Executive Committee.

The Business Units are organized in accordance with an optimized customer oriented model, commercial synergies and the value creation, irrespective of the location of the assets of one or more companies of the Group.

Two industrial units/ infrastructures:

• Gas Distribution
• Industrial Customers (Wholesale)
• Retail

All the Units have a manager for Environment, Quality and Safety, who is responsible for the implementation of related policies. These managers rely functionally on the corporate management unit of Environment, Quality and Safety.

In addition to these units, there also exist:

• Exploration and Production, which covers the businesses of exploration, and production;
• Generation and Co-generation (Galp Power), which is engaged in the study and development of business in the area of generation and co- generation, having a strategic interface with Supply and Transport of Natural Gas.
