THE TERTIR GROUP

TERTIR-Terminais de Portugal was set up as a company in 1981. Its objective was to construct logistical platforms (terminals) in Alverca (Lisbon) and Freixieiro (Oporto), as a response to the growing amount of traffic in international commercial goods.

Later on, in 1989, the company expanded into other areas of the transportation business. This led to the setting up of the TERTIR Group. The Group comprises various transportation-related companies, going from port operations, through shippers and shipping, on to international transportation, distribution, logistics, maritime agencies, etc.

The TERTIR Group globalized its business by setting up companies abroad, namely in Africa (Angola, Guinea Bissau and Mozambique).

LISBON OPERATIONS

Liscont operates a deep-sea container terminal at the Port of Lisbon. The terminal, totally managed and operated by Liscont, is under long-term concession from the port authority.

Boasting an intermodal service, the Liscont terminal connects to all main Iberian destinations, using block trains. Through tariffs up to/from ship's hold are available.

SETÚBAL OPERATIONS

At Setúbal Liscont handles breakbulk. Major commodities are steel, forestry products, marble and granite blocks.

FIGUEIRA DA FOZ OPERATIONS

At Figueira da Foz Liscont the company handles mostly forestry (paper and paper pulp) and steel products.
